Itineraries
Day 1
Marrakech To ouarzazt
An unforgettable journey to Merzouga dunes, beginning with a scenic drive across the High Atlas mountains, ascending through the Tizi N Tichka Pass (at 2,260 meters high) and admiring the picturesque villages perched on the mountains. Stop for lunch and a tour at the World Heritage site of Ait Benhaddou, a famous Kasbah that has served as a backdrop for over 20 films. Spend the night in a hotel in Ouarzazate.
Day 2
Ouarzazat to Toudra Gourges
On Day 2, after breakfast, depart from Ouarzazate to Skoura, where you will visit the magnificent Amredhyle Kasbah, one of the wonders of the "Route of the Thousand Kasbahs" in the southern region. Continue through the Valley of the Roses, stopping in Kella M'Gouna, before reaching Tinghir and its stunning canyons. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in the Todra Canyons, and then take some free time to explore the "gorges" and appreciate the river and the stunning views. Spend the night in a hotel.
Day 3
Toudra Gorges to Merzouga
On Day 3, depart from Toudra Gorges to Erfoud, passing through Tinjdad, Jorf, and Erfoud, where you will experience the beginning of the Saharan oasis of Tafilalet. Continue to Merzouga and meet the camels waiting to take you on an adventure in the sand dunes. Spend the night in an equipped camp with drum music in the middle of the Sahara in a nomad tent.
Day 4
Explore Merzouga Desert
Wake up early on Day 4 to witness the sunrise over the dunes before returning to the hotel for a shower and breakfast. Head to Khamlia village to enjoy live Gnawa music, then continue through an off-road tour of the sand dunes, and stop to have tea with nomads in Berber tents, discovering a new sense of life. Return to the hotel in Merzouga.
Day 5
Merzouga Desert To Fes
On Day 5, rise early once more and ride the camels back to Merzouga before washing up and having breakfast. Begin the journey to Fes, stopping for tea with a nomad family before passing through the High Atlas mountains again. Lunch in Midelt, a great mountain city situated at 1,488 meters of elevation, follows. In the evening, reach the legendary city of Fes, marking the end of the trip.
