Itineraries
Day 1
FES → AZROU → MIDLET → ZIZ VALLEY → ERG CHEBBI
We will meet you at 08:00 in front of your Riad/hotel and start the drive to Merzouga via Ifran and Midlet. During this journey you’ll experience glimpses of the Middle Atlas and Higher Atlas mountains. Stopping at Azrou, a Berber village in the middle of the famous cedar forest - the largest in Morocco – where you may well sight Barbarian apes. Continue through the Tizi N’talghamt Pass to Midelt via the magnificent Ziz Gorges carved through volcanic rock, stopping for panoramic views along the way. Then its straight to the impressive dunes of Merzouga and Erg Chebbi! Here we get on the camels for a sunset camel ride over the Sahara Dunes. You will spend the night in the middle of the desert in our Bivouac for dinner, Berber music and a good night’s rest.
Day 2
ERG CHEBBI → RISSANI → TODRA GORGES → BOUMALEN DADES
This morning will be an early one, you will rise up and hike up the dune in order to enjoy what may just be the best sunrise of your life. Afterwards, you will hop on your camel and trek throughout the spectacular Erg Chebbi dunes back to where transportation is waiting. After a refreshing breakfast we drive to visit the Gnawa people in their village Khamlia, where you will learn about the Gnawa music and their lifestyle. Then it's straight towards the Palm Plantation of Tafilalet, passing Rissani which is the old Alaouite capital of the Sahara Sultans. Get in touch with locals at a traditional market, before driving to Todra Gorges - the highest, narrowest gorges in Morocco. Here you will have the option to hike for an hour within the valley, where you will meet locals and learn about the culture and geography. Then we will arrive at your Hotel/Riad for dinner and a good nights rest.
Day 3
DADES GORGES → ROSES VALLEY → SKOURA → OUARZAZATE → MARRAKAECH
We will wake up early and have breakfast before departing to the majestic sand castles and rock formations known as "monkey toes", We continue to drive along the amazing Valley of Roses and onwards to Ouarzazate, will visit the Cinema Studios before Heading to Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, the largest Kasbah in Morocco. Here you will have the opportunity to visit this old mud site, which is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. it is one of the last Berber chieftains who dominated the whole region. We later afternoon continue on route towards Marrakech passing through Tizi n’ Tichka.
