Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga Desert

Start your Sahara desert tour with an early morning pick-up from your Fes accommodation or airport. Travel south through Imouzzer to visit Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco” due to its alpine-style architecture, low temperatures, and snowy winters. Continue to the Cedar Forest, home to the Barbary Macaques, where you can explore and even feed the monkeys. Next, head to Midelt for a delicious lunch, before driving through the scenic Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and along the Ziz River.

Arrive in the Merzouga Sahara Desert in the afternoon. Here, switch to camels and trek across the vast Erg Chebbi dunes, stopping atop a high dune to enjoy a stunning Sahara sunset. Continue to a luxury desert camp where you can relax with Berber music and dance around the campfire under the starry desert sky. Enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner and overnight stay in the camp.

Day 2: Merzouga Region Exploration – Nomads – Khamlia Village – Erg Chebbi – Palm Grove
